RTT Engineered Solutions is an industry leader in paint booth manufacturing. We were given the task of rebranding the whole company, from creating a new logo and website to marketing materials they hand out at trade shows.

Out with the old

This company was going through a rebrand after 23 years of being known in the industry as Col-met Engineered Finishing Solutions. They needed a new logo but wanted it to have some similarities to the old logo.

Initial sketches

They decided with RTT since it represented the client’s kids names. Through the meetings we had I learned that he was a traditional family man who spent a lot of time with his kids at their lakehouse.

I wanted to used some of those traits as inspiration for his new logo, I came up with some fluid logos as well as some structured logos.

One step closer

They settled on one of the design sketches and wanted to see more variations of it. I experimented with different angles and thicknesses. I also showed some subtle differences with the stem of the T being attached and detached.

Moving to digital

The client wanted to a similar shape from the original Col-met logo, I came up with these two designs for him. I wanted it to cover all three letters instead of one like the original. It was a tribute to him always being involved with his kids.

The final logo

The final logo incorporated some of the elements from the original logo that the client was happy about

Along with the new logo, RTT needed a full page magazine ad announcing their name change. They wanted to make sure they let their audience know that they were still the same company from years past but with a new facelift. Products Finishing is a monthly American trade magazine and web site focused on reporting on the use of organic and inorganic finishings and the technologies used to deliver them.
